Supporting those who support us all – The Brain Tumour Charity

The Brain Tumour Charity | Pentest

In April of 2020, as the COVID-19 situation started to intensify, we as a company decided we wanted to do more, to help those who support us all during difficult times. As a team we set ourselves a goal, to provide over £20,000 of information security work on a pro bono basis this year. With this in mind, we set about contacting various organisations & charities to offer our support.

But we didn’t always have to seek out opportunities, sometimes opportunities came directly to us. One such opportunity was The Brain Tumour Charity, who contacted us about their BRIAN web & mobile application

Having looked at the application, its benefits and the work done by the charity, it fit perfectly with our criteria & we were proud to be able to offer a pro bono element to our work.

For those unfamiliar with the application, the BRIAN app is designed to support those living with brain tumours, helping record their entire experience in one place, from symptoms, treatments, side effects and appointments to their emotional, physical and cognitive well-being. This data can be shared with carers, friends & family to help them better understand the situation and anonymised data is also used to drive forward research and accelerate progress towards a cure.

As you can see, it’s a hugely worthwhile project and it’s
one we are extremely proud to have been able to assist in.

“We engaged Pentest Ltd to perform penetration testing of our existing BRIAN web app and our newly developed mobile app. Pentest were able to execute this testing at short notice and to a high standard. Their consultants delivered scope above and beyond what was agreed and also voluntarily worked on the weekend to help us get the work completed. We would have no hesitation in recommending their services.” – The Brain Tumour Charity

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the team at The Brain Tumour Charity for all their time and wish them all the best with their vital work.
