Supporting those who support us all – Action for Children

Action for Children has always been a charity close to our hearts here at Pentest, in fact, one of our amazing Account Managers sits on the board of Byte Night Scotland, one of the charities annual fundraising events. 

Various members of our team have taken part in Byte Night over the years, sleeping outside for a night to help raise vital funds. Sadly, the traditional Byte Night event wasn’t possible this year due to lockdown restrictions, however we were still able to contribute and our team were proud to raise over £700 as part of the charities ‘Boycott Your Bed’ event.

We know all about the amazing work the charity does, but for those that don’t. Action for Children work to improve the lives of children, young people, and families throughout the UK, helping 368,648 in 2019/2020 alone. The charity provides a crucial lifeline to those in need and support everything from children’s centres & nurseries, through to mental health programmes & intensive family support services. During these difficult times, charities need our help more than ever and as well as supporting Action for Children in terms of fundraising, we also wanted to assist in any way we could from an information security perspective. We are proud to have been able to do this and have been working closely with the team at Action for Children to provide security testing and support for their newly developed website on a pro bono basis.
