A government-owned but operationally independent organisation, at the forefront of the UK’s clean energy transition, engaged our team to support a significant transformation of its digital infrastructure. As part of a broader strategy to enhance internal capabilities and reduce reliance on third-party vendors, the client sought a trusted partner to deliver specialised web application and infrastructure testing services.

This opportunity was initially identified by Brookcourt Solutions through the G-Cloud 14 procurement framework and passed to Pentest Limited for consideration in February 2025. Following a rigorous and highly competitive tender process, Pentest Limited were awarded the contract in July 2025. The evaluation placed considerable emphasis on the technical approach and delivery capability, which accounted for 60% of the scoring criteria, alongside a detailed commercial review. Winning this contract confirmed our ability to deliver on complex, high-impact engagements where technical expertise and precision are crucial.

The client’s objective is to transition to an in-house technology model that provides more granular control over its systems, data, and security. This transition is critical to ensuring that internal operations are agile, resilient, and better aligned with strategic goals. It also supports the delivery of improved digital services to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Pentest Limited’s work is designed to ensure that this new technology stack is robust, secure, and fit for purpose, enabling the client to move forward confidently as it shifts away from legacy systems and external technology dependencies.

To date, one major test has been completed under the contract, marking the first step in a multi-phase engagement. The contract has the potential to exceed £300,000 in value over the next three years, with additional scope possible depending on the evolution of the client’s testing needs. The initial delivery has already shown the value of our approach and the depth of expertise our team brings to high-stakes projects of this nature.

Reflecting on the success of the engagement so far, Paul Harris, Managing Director of Pentest Limited commented, “Being awarded a contract such as this demonstrates the expert capability we hold here. This partnership not only underscores our ability to deliver under government frameworks but also reinforces our reputation as a trusted provider of technical services”.
